Abstract Photos
Artist Statement: This week I focused on taking photos of small details that I notices on the street. I tired to express texture with in each of my pictures as well as a repetition of patterns that surrounded the frame of the photo. Lastly I edited all my photos in black and white to make them cohesive with one another.
Sophie, great start to the new school year. I think your ability to capture both darker and lighter shades within your photos creates a very strong abstract image. I also like your intricate textures within your photos because it isn't obvious of what the viewer is observing. Good Job!
ReplyDeleteI love the cohesiveness in the shading of all of these photos. All of these photos express different textures but fit well together because of the exposures.
ReplyDeleteI really like the black and white theme! Every photo is very simple yet has a lot of meaning. You're very talented, good job.
ReplyDeleteHi Sophie! I love how you approched the photo genre of abstraction– small details/textures on the street was THE way to go. I like how the black and white photos of cement looks like marble. b/w also distorts the photo in a way and adds to the abstractness. Amazing job!
ReplyDeleteYour abstract photos are very impressive. They give off a mysterious feel to them. I like how they are up close and black and white. Keep up the great work.

ReplyDeleteHey Sophie, this is an amazing collection that you have brought to life. I really think that black and white was a good choice because it brings out the abstract objects and shapes that you are trying to capture. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see more of what you do.
