Spring Series

Artist Statement: This week we started our spring series. I decided to create collages based on real life pictures. I took photos of my surrounding and then I also took portraits of a few of my classmates. I took their faces and or eyes and cropped it to fit a certain part of the photo. Then I meshed both photos together then edited them in black and white. This is just the first week of photos and I will be trying out new ways to edit my pictures every week.

  1. These are so cool! I think that the placing of each photo is very creative. The place also makes them look like they are supposed to be there and that it's not a collage at all. Keep going!

  2. Great Job Sophie. These are great. I enjoyed how you involved each one of your subjects into the image as if they belonged. I think the way you incorporated each person was very good.

  4. I like these photos! My only suggestion is to keep with the people in the background as if they are ghosts watching a person or multiple people like you do in the first 3 photos.

  5. These are amazing Sophie! I love how you are able to incorporate each person into the photo and make it seem like they were part of the original photo. Nice work.

  6. This is a really cool idea! I think you should definitely keep making photos like the last two where the overlayed image is more subtle and not part of the subject.

  7. This is a really interesting series and I like how the black and white filter adds to your central idea. Great work!
