Winter series 1
Artist Statement: This week we looked for different type of photographers to help us base our own photos on. I chose to take panning pictures which is what Kevin Bjorke had done. I liked how he focused on a certain person or object within the photo and had everything else blurred out. What I chose to do is very similar, I am taking photos of moving cars and people and focusing on them while the back round gets blurred out. I used a camera with the TV setting and set it to the right shutter speed. When I found the right speed and would focus on the object then with my camera I would follow the object while it moved in hopes that it would come out like Kevin Bjorke. This project is harder than previous projects but as I keep taking photos they will start coming out as wanted
I think you did a really nice job with the blurring and making sure the car was in focus the whole time. I also really enjoyed seeing you expanding the project to people. Great Job!
ReplyDeleteThese are really cool. Similar to Lauren I like how you used people. My only suggestion would maybe try to experiment with how these photos look in color or maybe add a different effect like the mirror effect. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteGood Job Sophie! These photos are great because you had a main object that you focused on, while the rest of the image was blurred out. My only suggestion would be to try some of these in color and see if you can make your main focal point more prominent. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteThese are really cool. I wonder what this would look like would color, though. That may be something you could experiment with in the next few weeks. Good work!
ReplyDeleteThese are really sharp. All of these show your understanding panning which is great! I love how you changed your subjects from cars to people, it gives a different look on what panning looks like
ReplyDeleteYour first couple of photos are your best photos. Going down the line, however, the main subjects got more and more blurry so it seemed more like abstract blurs rather than panning. In the future, really try to focus on panning-- I know it's pretty hard, but from what I can tell from your first couple of photos, you're really good at it. Also, maybe consider having full color in addition to black and white.
ReplyDeleteThese are too good and interesting. I feel like there is a story being told with each photo. I think the black and white editing works really well. Great work.
ReplyDeleteI thought a few of these had a very interesting blur effect, but in terms of panning they could have been more clear. Maybe play around with the shutter speed more, but overall they were good
ReplyDeleteI like how some of these had a partial blur. It would be cool if you put a filter on it that would have a little bit of color like on the car.
